The Environmental Youth-Adult Partnerships Project

September 2009

The Environmental Youth-Adult Partnerships (EYAP) Project is a two-year project supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, stemming from the experiences of EcoSource’s Peel Environmental Youth Alliance (PEYA) program. It aims to bring together individuals and organizations that participate in environmentally-focused youth-adult partnerships to share ideas, good practices, tools and resources.

The EYAP project endeavours to strengthen intergenerational learning and action within the environmental movement in Ontario. Information will be amassed and shared in four main ways: the creation of a database of current environmentally-focused youth-adult partnerships, an Ontario-Wide symposium, a written manual on good practices for YAPs and a workshop series to be delivered in various Ontario communities.

PEYA and EcoSource operate under the following broad definition of youth-adult partnership: “Youth and adults teach one another, learn from one another and act together. Decision making is shared.”

EYAP is a project of EcoSource and the Peel Environmental Youth Alliance
