She co-organized a two day Polar Bear Awareness event at the Winnipeg Children’s Museum, where she delivered presentations to school and community groups, emphasizing how local actions can have global consequences. This initiative, and Megan’s commitment to educating her peers and younger children about environmental issues did not go unnoticed. Global and City TV, as well as CBC radio showcased her work. At school, Megan established her environmental club and initiated a recycling program.
